Kiwanis Club of Zionsville/Whitestown presenting Zionsville Cultural District with a gift.
Since 2015, the Kiwanis club of Zionsville/ Whitestown has actively engaged with the community and schools, leaders and parents, to support children, youth and familiesin Boone County. We understand that by developing youth leadership skills, we are preparing the next generation of community leaders.
By partnering with other organizations that also serve the interests of youth, children and families, we create impact that enables and empowers the next generation.
We produce the annual Coolest Pet Contest that brings together pet owners, their friends and family members, to nominate pets through a fun, online contest that raises funds for a variety of community interests. The funds we raise is the primary funding that supports our service and our partnerships.
We participate in the Zionsville Fall Festival and parade to promote the Coolest Pet contest and with our Key Club, co-host the Coolest Pet Pet Show.
We sponsor the Key Club at Zionsville Community High School, which engages several hundred students to serve their school, community and world. Key Club International is the world’s largest service leadership organization for teens.
We provide scholarships to graduating seniors, and we are exploring other ways to offer growth and leadership development opportunities to students in the Zionsville Community Schools.
We support the Boys and Girls Club in both Whitestown and Zionsville with financial grants and hands-on service projects, helping them meet their needs as they engage and empower youth through their various program activities.
We support the Humane Society for Boone County with financial grants and hands-on service projects, helping them support pet adoption and ownership as well as the families that welcome pets into their homes as part of their homes.
We participate as one of more than one hundred Kiwanis clubs in Indiana who provide annual financial support for a designated need at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
And always, here are other activities in around Whitestown and Zionsville in which we engage…
Each October, the Boone Village merchants and our Key Club, we co-host a Halloween event for children that provides safe trick-or-treating, a costume contest, and a “scary” haunted hallway.
In recent years, we’ve also underwritten August evening concerts at Zionsville’s Lincoln Park, we’ve participated in Whitestown’s Hops and Hounds event, We’ve supported the Zionsville Chamber of Commerce Street Dance and Christmas on Main Street activities, and we’ve provided spring clean-up help for Maple Lawn Farmstead.
Most importantly, we are part of Kiwanis International, a global family of more than 16,000 service clubs in 85 nations, dedicated to serving the children of the world. We contribute to, and have received grants from, the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, the charitable arm of Kiwanis International.
